How does the Venus Versa laser system work?

Whether on your face or body, the Venus Versa laser system can target unwanted hair. The concentrated light energy is focused on the hair follicle, rendering it unable to produce hair. The hairs on any area of the face or body are in one of four growth phases. The system attacks the hairs that are in the “growth phase.” You will need to undergo a series of treatments to ensure all hair follicles, as they enter the growth phase, are treated and unable to grow hair.

Am I a good candidate for this treatment?

If you have unwanted hair on your face or body, you are likely a good candidate for laser hair removal in Bellevue, with a few exceptions. Those who may not be good candidates have:

Previous problems with laser therapy
Active infection or history of herpes simplex in the treatment area
Use of depilatories or other hair removal treatments, such as waxing, plucking, or electrolysis, within 6 weeks prior to treatment
Hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or other bleaching agents
A history of keloid scarring
Use of oral Accutane within 6 weeks prior to treatment

You may not be able to get IPL laser hair removal if you have/are:

Metal or other implants in the treatment area
Current or history of cancer
Pregnant or nursing
Any diseases that can be stimulated by light (e.g., epilepsy)
History of disease that can be stimulated by heat (e.g., herpes)
Poorly controlled endocrine disorders (e.g., diabetes or polycystic ovary syndrome)
Any active condition in the treatment area (e.g., eczema, psoriasis, rash)
History of skin disorders, keloids, unusual wound healing, or excessively dry and/or sensitive skin
Any surgical procedures within the past 3 months
A tattoo or permanent makeup in the treatment area
Excessively tanned skin

How Much Does Laser Hair Removal Cost?

Laser hair removal prices will vary depending on the number of treatments performed and the amount of hair removed. For smaller areas, such as the lips, chin, and areolas, four treatments will cost a little over $100. Four treatments in a medium-sized area, such as the underarms, bikini, and cheeks, will run patients about $299. Larger areas, including the legs, back, and chest, will cost about $429 for four treatment sessions.

Recovery From Laser Hair Removal

Avoid sun exposure for at least two weeks after treatment.
Keep the treated area clean with mild soap and water.
Apply cold compresses if there is redness or swelling.
Avoid hot showers and activities that cause sweating for the first 24-48 hours.
Moisturize the treated area with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer.
Don't pick or scratch the area to prevent scarring or infection.
Follow the specific post-treatment instructions given by your provider.
Results are not immediate, and multiple sessions are usually needed.
